This is why to us it’s not a big surprise Natal has been awarded ‘Best of What’s New’ for 2009!

Natal is getting more and more visibility but I bet for the punters out there it’s not enough (it never is is it?) and the public wants to see more of what it can do and how it’ll work! But for now let’s praise the people working on the projects and may they have something to show very soon!

If you’re interested in reading the article though, it can be found in the December issue of Popular Science magazine. However don’t expect a lot of detail on either Project Natal or Milo, for that we’ll all have to wait a bit longer...

Whilst writing this I also spotted that TIME magazine included Project Natal in their list of The 50 Best Inventions of 2009! Leaving teleportation and the AIDS vaccine behind (!?). I was thinking that could make an impressive tagline?

Peter's BAFTA presentation, again

Two weeks ago Peter gave a speech at BAFTA in London about video games (duh!).
"The clamour to call Milo a fake when no-one ever claimed he was real - Molyneux himself admitting to “tricks” - proves just how hair-raising, how unsettling Microsoft and Lionhead’s achievement is. It has the smell of witchcraft about it." Eurogamer wrote.

The article goes on; “Milo was the hands-down sensation of E3, but that's not the only reason it takes the Best Technology award. It was the synthesis of Lionhead's AI experiments with Microsoft's technically amazing and surprisingly functional Project Natal hands-free interface to create something genuinely new - not just a demo resembling a flavour-of-the-mass-market Wii game - that attracted our attention, not to mention Steven Spielberg's. Usually the conservative follower of trends, it was Microsoft who took the boldest step into the future this E3.”

Gamefocus said the following about their “WOW” Moment - Project Natal – Milo "Some people say its fake, others think its scary. Either way, this jaw-dropping project from Lionhead’s Peter Molyneux raised the skepticism bar up a notch. Not that we don’t believe Mr. Molyneux and his claims. Nonetheless, it made us ask ourselves what if it was true. There’s no doubt that if this project works, we could assist at the next evolution of role playing games...and even more."

Lionhead @ E3 2009

In about 5 minutes the Microsoft E3 Press Conference will be well under way! There have been promises of big announcements and presentation over the last couple of days/weeks and even I can't wait what it's all going to be.

Also this year there is no need for live chat-feeds, long delays of information or the wait for news snippets here and there.
