Keep it a-thrivin! Jumpin' and jivin'! Take 'er down to the cornerstore for case of beer and a bag of hot peanuts...
As you can see, there's a fine reason as to why my musical career never got off the ground.
Just thinkin about this today. Wouldn't it be sweet if B&W 3 had a populous vibe to it? God role-playing + classic belief expanding mechanics + old school creature fighting + gesture controlled shaman to do your bidding = possible awesomeness?
Spreading land mass out into the open ocean to build up your cities and, eventually, going clear around the planet to attack from the rear would be crazy. It could definately make for interesting multiplayer games.
Maybe there could be phases of landmass. Pulling land up out of the ocean it would be a malleable, almost volcanic, material, able to be shaped as you like, but then once you set the vegetation to get a-growin' it would become a solid landmass. Then you wouldn't have to worry about buildings and such being on the ground during the changes.
Of course then this would leave any shorelines open to invasion, and would make alternating elevations and spreading lower elevations out into the water pretty much a necessary tactic in multiplayer games.
Just some random thoughts...
We can't cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live our lives in happiness.
