deliriousstudios:Well, no. I'm pretty sure in folklore vampires tend to avoid the day time, the reasons for that I don't know, but I am led to assume that it's not because they don't want to sparkle.
Well you never know.
I mean, it's going to be pretty bad if you're trying to sneak up on some guy, and he spots you sparkling behind him.
I only wrote this because I hate you.

deliriousstudios:Well, no. I'm pretty sure in folklore vampires tend to avoid the day time, the reasons for that I don't know, but I am led to assume that it's not because they don't want to sparkle. Its not just folklore its religious propaganda, started back in the day. (I just took a class on this a couple months back.) The religion at the time spread the "spookies" and the people stuck it in their folklore along with anything else that they couldn't explain. Anything to save them from damnation.*sarcasm*
{Prince Vlad Wallachla the Impaler (Dracula) mentioned at times to be the first vampire. He was waging war on peoples and putting them on pikes all throughout the day and the night. Lets not forget Elizabeth Bathory. And you can hear some of this on the History channel when they go into depth about these two figures.}
The term Vampyre, becoming vampire, really didn't hit until the early 18th century. But the creature concepts go back almost till the birth of dirt, but defiantly before the thought that garlic or holy water and a stake would save you let alone a cross, given to us by Catholic church. But other religions, regions, and people pre-dating a lot of the 14 and 15 hundreds, Some of their folklore never even mentions sunlight.
Yet still being a type of demon it wouldn't be unusual for any people to associate demons with the night, and night being chased away by the day. So 1+1= 2.![Tongue Tied [:S]](/emoticons/emotion-7.gif)
Where someone gets the idea of vampires sparkling kinda goes out into left field for me.![WTF [:wtf:]](/emoticons/wtf.gif) I just assumed she wanted a different creative aspect of her story, trying to break the mold so to speak.
I'm most surprised you guys haven't started poking fun at the Sookie Stackhouse novels and tv show True Blood.

LethargicMotivator:I actually really liked True Blood.
I'm not really a vampire kind of person, I mean, they're alright, but they're getting too popular these days, everybody bloody teen movie has either a vampire or a zombie in it.
...Shudders... watched parts of the show other day (Mum watches it, she needs to get checked out she watches every thing with vampires in) the story isn't the worst I've seen but the show is so terribly over acted with people who wouldn't know talent if it hit them in the face, jeez what is it with these people who over act, are they just overly pretentious. The acting in the show was like the acting in my old drama class just too overly done like they took inspiration from soap operas like Hollyoaks.
"IrishMorn" If Adon and Sagat step in....ah, what the hell, I'll get drunk and join in on that one.

Perhaps not, but you do share a few similarities. For example, you don't have a life
Hmm, I've only seen chunks of twilight, but those chunks were enough to prove to me that it's definitely no epic.
Bela lugosi would be turning in his grave right now. (If he wasn't immortal, of course ;D )
I've been disappointed with quite a few vampire-related films as of late, but this has to be the worst. Then again, with a twilight fanbase that seems massive, I suppose the company who made it don't give a crap as long as the dough comes rolling in.
I'm still hoping for a film adaptation of Wolf's Vampire: The Masquerade.
Okay, so the only film I've ever seen that was based on a tabletop rpg was Dungeons and Dragons - which I haven't seen in years but vaguely recall being disappointed by - regardless it would make for one hell of a kickass film if done right (It's just a shame no one seems to be generally able to adapt things into film without at least slightly making it suck)

It's all down to the Director and the Producer, D&D could have been a brilliant film given the right people to do it so could Masquerade if they had the right director and a producer that doesn't but in.

OMGWTFBBQ!?
Did you just sum up DnD as a "Corny tabletop game"?
I suppose we'll just have to fix that uneducated opinion of yours. Right, find two more nerds, and lets get started, you have a lot to learn.
(No, seriously, we need to get around to playing some time. We keep talking about it, but it never seems to hapen. My 4th edition is dying of underuse over here!)
Then again, I suppose you could call DnD a little corny. Though that depends upon the players and the DM.

The Radio was the most influential piece of entertainment before T.V ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) , D&D isn't really as corny as it sounds, I've not played the board games but given the computer games the general theme is well played out take neverwinter nights for example... the only corny part was that T.V series.
On-topic: I hope your right, I hope the bloody thing dies out soon.

Exactly. In fact, DnD started the whole RPG genre, if not indirectly inspired the entire video game genre. So technically, without it lionhead wouldn't exist, thus none of us would be on this forum xD
Then again, I've never played a single Lionhead game, I'm just here to keep Icechild in check (Plus I get my kicks from annoying him and discretely laughing at his spelling errors ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) )
Aanyway, returning to the topic...
Um, yeah. I think we've reached the general concencus that Twilight is not very ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) xD

Well in all honesty Jerry your spelling isn't much better. Deliberately annoying other members of this forum can be seen as bullying which I heavily look down upon. I'm not a forum moderator but if I get the impression that your going out of your way to annoy or bully other members of the forum then I will report you, Icechild may make mistakes in his/her posts and they are often rectified and Icechilds arguments often get debunked however s/he is still a member of this community just like you and every one else and s/he should still be treated with the same respect as other members as should his/her comments. Now I hope you were just trying to be funny in your last post and you are not deliberately annoying Icechild for ***'s and giggles.
Whoah, relax, I was joking. Besides, 'Icechild' is actually a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) friend of mine in real life (In fact, it was his Idea that I join this place), so sorry if I sounded like a troll/flamer/cyberbully etc. Any mild 'insults' used against him (And undoubtedy hurled back tenfold) are used in a playful manner (Quite similar to how we adress each other in real life). I see how it could seen by onlookers, but it's just that kind of friendship xD
Plus, the "laughing at his spelling mistakes" part is somewhat of an inside joke since he's technically dyslexic.
I'd never actually "get my kicks" from bullying someone on a forum, that would just be wrong.
