    Awesome book!

I just finished "Scarpetta" by Patricia Cornwell and I am about to start"Azincourt" by Bernard Cornwell.

    And no, I don't pick books by author's surname, it's a coincidence...

Just finished Dandy In The Underworld by Sebastian Horsley. Never read anything so offensive and enjoyed it so much, he's a fascinating individual.
Yes, I thought so. Just watch your step or I'm totally telling.

We'll expect your next post in this thread to be about 6-9 months. lol

There was word that the final book was in the works despite the (untimely?) demise of Robert Jordan. Was that ever released?

Re: What Book Are You Reading?

Thanks for the info! For further edification, the final volume has been broken up into three novels (in true Robert Jordan-esque "dragging out the plot to the bitter end" fashion): The Gathering Storm, Shifting Winds and Tarmon Gai'don. (the last two titles are apparently provisional).

Enjoy! It'll take me about a year to catch up. I haven't read any Wheel of Time since book 9...

lol, I love Jordan's way of detailing the world though. It may be long and drawn out, but the man had talent, I can only hope that his predecessor can follow his ideas.

The Encyclopedia of European Historical Weapons (OT just a sec, is google chrome of it's head??, I'm starting to believe that it's more illiterate then I am, it's telling me I've writen Encyclopedia wrong I've typed exactly what it says on the book)

The Book has all sorts of pictures and information on Swords, Bows, Gun and even Gun blades, the book is mostly being used to get a G o o d [Good] Idea of what weapons I want to use in my animation, some beauties in here too.

A tragic understatement. The Name of the Wind is the best fantasy book I have read for a while and I am utterly distraught that the next one has been delayed!

I'm about to go start to finish with the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay.  They should be coming in the mail any day now, a cool grand total of 50 bucks, shipping and all.  Anyone know if they're everything that they've been made up to be?

Re: What Book Are You Reading?

Currently reading A. Bertram Chandler's John Grimes novels, and I quite enjoy them.

Although the fact that Chandler is given as having been the best that Australia had to offer at the time is worrying me a bit, the books are great Space Opera type novels, but they are also terribly anachronistic even for their time. Imagine a 19th century type British Navy (love the stereotype arrogance of all the officers) in Flash Gordon type Spacecraft using a mix between high-tech Laserweapons and 50's missiles & torpedoes, not to mention the advanced 40's mindset of gender stereotypes and morals.

Really makes me wonder about the given publishing date of late 60's to early 70's.

It’s because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them."

By the way, I'm starting on the fourth Dexter book, and they're positively betwazzling!  They're easy to read, laced with black humor, and the content is more than enough to tickle your dark fancy.  Very fun stuff!
These books are Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter, Dexter in the Dark, and Dexter by Design with Dexter is Delicious coming out next year sometime.  I think the dude's got a book-a-year deal with his publisher, but they never seem to dip in quality.  Highly recommended.

I love true Blood so much that I am now starting the Sookie Stackhouse series. it's pretty G o o d [Good], so far, but I know most of what to expect right now. I'll let you know once I get to the 3rd book (there's only been 2 seasons).

I am currently reading two books, World War Z by Max Brooks and Tom Clancy's EndWar. Both are great I'd say. I'd definitely suggest World War Z.
