Really the trick to becoming a concept artist is just practice, practice, practice. Draw constantly, read books about drawing, take art classes if that's an option for you, do life drawing, go sit in a café and do thumbnail sketches of passers by, just do whatever you can to keep drawing.

Chuck Jones, creator of Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner said that every artist has 1000 bad drawings inside of them. The sooner you get them out, the sooner you can get on to the G o o d [Good] stuff.

If you're looking for learning materials, there are a ton of great books on the subject. Polykarbon has a G o o d [Good] list of some of the better ones here. I'd also recommend you post your drawings on the forums at conceptart.org, as there are many professional artists there that will be happy to give you pointers and critique your work, so long as you're polite.

    G o o d [Good] luck!

Dude, thats great advice, I just started drawing in sept, did a class and I love it.  I dont practice as much as I should, but I am working on it.  and 1000 bad drawings inside of us, thats a sick metaphore, gives me hope, lol

Whether you think you can or can't, you're right either way.
