    Shameless self promotion!

OK, so I finally got over my fear of being critically panned and have decided to finally let my music roam free and be slagged off by random people rather than just my Mum.Hmm [^o)] Its only a MySpace, but you can hear my brain excrement and that is the main thing. Song genres vary, from metal, to electronica, to pure E v i l [Evil] but Weavers Tale is inspired by a certain game by a certain developer....Huh? [:^)] Here it is Opinions other than "It zucks" will be appreciated....Smily [:)]

If you have an interest in electric music then you should check out Stomp's space...I can recommend diseased dream and the weaver's tale.

I would say they are pretty G o o d [Good] for a first public attempt...and I do not give out comments often.

I listened to your song Weavers Tale and really enjoyed it. I would say there are some timing issues in the first half of the song although I am not too familiar with timings outside of 4/4 and 3/4.  Other than that it truly did evoke a fable-type mood for me. G o o d [Good] job.

    magic is cool.

Thanks for listening and the feedback!

These timing problems, are they by any chance on the harp? That was my sequencer being a pain(the only thing Logic can't do ), but when I finally fixed it, it didnt sound as quirky, so I left it in.

    Stick out tongue [:P]

    Re: Shameless self promotion!

    Listening through your junk now!

OK, first off Wounded Minotaur. Not a fan of the tracks title, but that hasn't put me off so far. You've got a really G o o d [Good] consistent sound running through. Love that distortion you've got going, although slightly fuzzy for my personal tastes. The bass was fantastic.

Electric Mindfield is a little messy I found. It starts off quite interesting, the drums felt a little bit out, but sounded fine. It was the extra synths that kinda spoiled it. Although, once that first section was over, I quite liked it. All the sounded seemed to work together. Oh and I loved how you brought the strings in at the half way mark.

Diseased Dream was very well put together. I didn't feel as if any of the sounds clashed, it all seemed to come together nicely. The snare was maybe a tad too loud. What the track needed as a whole though was a little more variety. You had that guitar all the way through and it eventually got slightly annoying. Would have been G o o d [Good] with lyrics!

Weavers Tale...hmm. I wasn't a fan of the melody. But it could have just been the strings, they sounded a bit midi-ish to me. The harplike instrument you had didn't seem to fit so well. But having said that on it's own it sounded very interesting. The best bit was when brought the timpani (or whatever kind of drum you used) in, although I expected it to pick up a bit there.
It sounded a lot like part of the soundtrack to Age of Empires 1. Which I guess is a G o o d [Good] thing.

March of Darkness was really eeire. I could imagine that in an FPS. Although the snare was a tad annoying, the rest I really liked.

I actually listened to some of these when you first posted...but I must have gotten sidetracked. Surprise [:O]
Overall, really G o o d [Good] stuff. You should definitely keep going, you're headed in the right direction for some absolutely brilliant music.

    Re: Shameless self promotion!

Thank you! This is the kind of response I've been hoping for! Big Smile [:D]

I know what you mean about the WM guitar sound, I hate it personally but I cant be bothered re-recording it! Also the title is just an image I like, (big beast, hurt and angry)

Electronic Mindfield was written with a concept in mind (electronic instruments & a natural percussion sound for 1st section, 'real' instruments & a drum machine for the second and a great big mess at the end Smily [:)] ) and i know which bit you think is out, thats me being "progressive"... Hmm [^o)]

As for vocals, Im talking to a guy about doing some for a song Im recording now!

    Anyway, thanks for listening!

    Re: Shameless self promotion!

Your guitar work is G o o d [Good], but your drums are a bit unconventional, it doesn't sound like a real drummer sat behind a real drum-kit, not in terms of how real the sound is, but drummers don't tend to drum that way.
Also your melodies are not so strong.
This is possibly on perpose if it is background music.
But if it is, to judge it well I'd need to know what imagery it goes with.
Your orchestral music (the Weavers tale) was a bit lacking.
Some harmonic mistakes where made, and it didn't seem quantized properly.
It does show that you understand concepts like "question and answer" and you can work with multiple melodic lines, but you need practice.
I can tell that it's not what you have specialized in as much as your guitar work.
But you seem to have general talent, the rest comes with doing it often.
My main advice is that even though you write background music, work on your melodies.
You work with lite motifs a lot (repeating short melodies) but your music could really use longer-lasting melodies to prevent your music from becoming too repeditive.

Thanks for all your feedback people, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Hmm [^o)]

Errm, maybe not, actually. Stick out tongue [:P]

Anyway, There is a new song up called Dead Planet, which was inspired a little by Mass Effect, and a lot by this instrument plug-in. Its a bit 'experimental' with a few things, but Im really, really please with the result.

Also, listen using headphones (if you can)! You'll hear more crazy stuff that way!

I found the guitar sound a bit tinny, but nice composition work! Up []

Fancy checking out my stuff? here

It will sound far better if you have decent speakers or headphones/earphones, becuase on normal computer speakers you just cant hear the bass in the slightest!

    Re: Shameless self promotion!

I liked March of Darkness for some reason, and I hate electronic music. I can do any guitar work you need, because your's was very very very very very very very very very very very very very very repetitive. Just PM me.

And I'm probably the only one that gets that your name is like the anthrax album Stomp 442. Lick [:lick:]

And finally, if anybody has any projects they need music/sound effects for, Im available and looking for projects to stick on my CV! Stick out tongue [:P] If you have such a project, drop me a PM!

    Re: Shameless self promotion!

A G o o d [Good] place might be the TMO forums Stomp, they're always looking for music, especially if you're willing to tailor the music to what they might need in their movie. So it might be an idea to make a thread there linking them to your stuff, since most of them wont look in this forum.

I'll check out your latest when I get the chance. Stick out tongue [:P]
