    Blue Screen and Time help.

Hi, i know this annoying for you guys to deal with people like me everyday but i needed help, i needed to know how to use tarison's blue mod, i know this has been covered, i'd google how to use it but can someone please upload the blue screen mod, since the dcmodding site hasn't approved me yet, and one more help i needed was in stopping time, you see i have this set of characters with whom i need to make movies but has the time spans so quickly i wouldn't wanna let them age soon, so is there anyway i can stop time and yet make movies, i know instant movie making option is available in sandbox mode, but i don't make movies of avg length, i sit for over 8-9 hours on the game and i was able to make a 40 minute movie ^^ [^^] and i want to make movies of that duration but it is not possible if i can't stop the time, anyway thanks for help in advance and i'd be really happy if someone uploaded tarison's blue screen mod.

Re: Blue Screen and Time help.

The DCMF website is undergoing a major overhaul and the webmaster is hard at work on it, that makes it difficult to check on new applicants. I'll relay your request for approval asap (ei: kick Gleem's butt) lol

Re: Blue Screen and Time help.

...or alternatively, you could show a little patience and wait for your DCMF account to be activated and download it from there, maybe?

Well it's been 3 or 4 days or so that's why i asked, anyway has anyone made any mod related to stopping time, i know this is stupid, but making the actors and all train, practise, and make happy and all those things takes away a lot of time, and on top of that they'd age soon, even in sandbox mode time still flies by anyway, i know it's part of the game, but does no one have prb related to that.?

Re: Blue Screen and Time help.

Not that I know of, unfortunately.  I know what you mean; even with "instant filming" switched on, time can canter by very quickly.

The only option I've found is to setup the studio first, then hire your movie crew, and hire your actors last.  Film your movie is segments, exporting each piece as you do it and make sure you pause between shooting each section wherever possible (don't just let the timer run on between shots if you are away from the computer or something).  Then use an outside editor to stitch the pieces back together outside the game.  Not only does this mean you can jiggle things how you want them exactly, but it also means that, with shooting smaller chunks, you don't need to worry about the dreaded "sound bug".

Re: Blue Screen and Time help.

As a modder i have to test everything in game, that is what made me do a simple thing and i think it might be a solution to the time problem. As i test a lot of stuff, its important to do a lot of it in different scenes and sets. I have setup a studio specifically for that purpose. with means i never, ever save a game. i can open it, get the set i need, the scene i want, shoot it, export, exit without saving....i know if you miss it its going to have to be re-done again, but if you save that one scene under a new game name, just in case, you can re-shoot that one until you get it right. then for the next one, start with the original, unsaved game. it always starts at the same time, no actors get old, nothing ages. I have been using this for 2 years and I'm still at June 2007, with all my original actors at the same age. I have some saved games that have been saved over and they have aged quite a bit, so by doing so, i know, time can be manipulated.

Oh and BTW, your account has been approved on DCMF.

Re: Blue Screen and Time help.

Most "serious" (and I use the word advisedly Wink [;)]) TM movie makers don't use the tycoon portion of the game to make their movies; use Sandbox.  You don't have to worry about stunt training, building decay, relationships, etc; that stuff is only of relevance when trying to score highly in the tycoon mode, and has no bearing whatsoever on the quality of movie produced for outside game consumption, so to speak; that's entirely down to the time and effort of the film maker, the voice artists, the modding and the script (just like any real cinematic movie).
