-Cooler Master Scout Mid Tower
-Gigabyte 760G Motherboard
-AMD Athlon II X2 240
-2GB Hynix RAM (Getting rid of that soon)
-BFG 550W PSU
-HIS Radeon 4830

It should all be here by Monday.

The RAM is a too low! 4-8 GB are nice for Vista/Win7. 64 bit system of course!

combination of CPU to graphic card concerning their performance. I would say this PC should cost about 400 € (without Windows and peripherals)... what have you paid, I may ask?

I would have opted for an Phenom II 955 (got that one myself) and a Radeon HD5850 or even 5870. High-end baby!

On a second thought, I would certainly have chosen a tripple-core CPU at least. The era of dual cores is fading away! Six-core CPUs arriving at the end consumer market by next year. Look how the recent Dragon Age scales on CPUs with more than 2 cores ... up to 75% more performance with 4 cores over an equally or even higher clocked dual-core.

4 GB RAM is enough still I think. Mainly because most applications are still 32 bit and will not take advantage of much bigger amounts than 2 GB. Add the system core of Vista/Win7 and some background applications and you will be with 4 GB. The more the better of course.

If I had the money or a job, I would love to upgrade my computer. A lot of the software I use is 64bit so like I've already said would be nice to double my RAM. I'm running quad core at the moment which i think can stay, but wouldn't mind upgrading the HDD and graphics card, got 8800gt.

I would have got all of those things if I had more money. Around X-mas time, I'm going to get a 5770 and maybe a new motherboard and RAM. This computer specifically cost me about $280 overall. I got some things at a discount from people I know.

Take it from me: when you get a job just for some extra money, it's only fine for a month or two.  Then a dozen new responsibilities swoop down from outer space to smack you in the nads.  Pretty soon, you have to spend your money the day after payday on mysterious obligations that you didn't have before and you're poor again.

If you just want a one-time sum of spending money, get a seasonal job since you're still going to school.  Or you could even get your parents to pay you to do some extra big chores over the holidays, like paint the house or something.  You don't want to become dependent on your additional income.

Painting the house is such an american thing to say. Unfortunately in the UK parents don't trust their kids anywhere near the house and they get professionals in to paint..

I am however renovating the garden next summer but that's just for personal satisfaction and a chance to use my wood work skills.
