Re: Fable III Info and Articles
Mythos, nothing here is confirmed. Just things that they're either working on or thinking of putting in. Anything here may or may not be in the game even when confirmed as currently being in, as plans change and playtesting can remove any feature. Three months before the game's release date is when it's finished and being tested then burned to discs. That's when we can start talking about what is confirmed and what isn't.

Not to be mean but my name has a "I" not a "Y"
I know "MOST" is not confirmed Press Conference wise. And I do know, (knowing Peter and past games) take all these articles with a grain of salt unlike a few people on these forums. I know things will be added and taken away from games....i am not a dumb noob.... But there are some things that you know off of common knowledge that is going to be in game like: loading off of Fable 2 save and using the new elements Touch and Judgment or it taking place about 50 years after Fable 2.
But what is not official is how it will be used in game which some people are thinking "Oh because Peter said natal it is going to be in-game" (when in actually he beats around the bush and does not even confirm and deny it. (Microsoft this time is strictly on Peters ass now) What was mentioned when Fable 3 was first announce is official but how it is used in game its not. Thats why not to confuse more fans I am asking Moose to separate what is MOST likely going to be in-game (Judgment and Touch....and not an explanation on how) from articles that bring up Rumors and contradictions made by the Lionhead staff. (Adding Natal in game)

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
Whether it's official or not, things change. The official announced features for Fable 2 weren't all in the game, even those that were confirmed later on. Confusing or not, if these things get put into a confirmed or most likely section the thread will get taken straight off sticky status and eventually be lost in the boards, as it just causes chaos when people start flooding the place out with complaints about Lionhead lying once the game is released. Personally I'm all for having the thread reflect what is most likely, what has been confirmed and what is least likely, but the sad fact remains that some people will take it as gospel truth and cause trouble here if the game isn't everything they think they're going to get. Oh, an sorry about the misspelling.

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
Nice thread Moose, a mew Mort in the making perhaps? Anywho, I'm not seeing anything new or innovative in Fable II yet. That maybe a bad thing or a blessing in disguise. The only thing slightly new is the dynamic touch which Fable III could rely on to heavily. I mean, how exciting is touching things (unless it's with your wroth, muahaha)?

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
Okay, some guy got an (early) magazine. Its the xbox 360 World (dec 09) magazine. I wont link the post because the site kinda illegal.. but yeah what it mentions is: - If your character was , your kid will be naurished and well-looked etc. While if your character was bad, your kid will be bullied or something? maybe its an exageration me thinks.. - The first half sees your character as an idealist whos unhappy with the current ruler of albion. (so that means your going against the character you were in Fable 2? woah..) so you go around convicning people to join your cause, and making promises. - Its been 50 years since Fable 2 and Albion has grown towards industrialization, so theres going to be a stark difference in bowerstone between the rich and poor. with ghetos and manors etc. - it says the 'expression system has been removed'. So the entire thing is gone? so no more farting and dancing I guess :/ - All the magic creatures have been pushed back deeper into the forests/underground because of mans industrialization, and its supposedly a big theme in the game, of nature vs progress. So yeah, most of the info doesnt seem new though. Sorry I couldnt post the actual link ( I suck at summarizing), but I'm sure someones gona post the entire thing soon anyway.

i think it was a basic assumption because PM said you will fight a Tyrant King but what if you chose a female character in F2 so that idea is out the window

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
I need to point something out. In regards to Natal, Peter is just covering his ***. He said this in an interview: "I am going to say it's going to use a controller, but I've never said it's not going to use Natal." ... "But let me give this to you absolutely straight. I have not said that
we're not going to have Natal in Fable III. All I have really said is
it is a controller experience. That doesn't mean there isn't going to
be Natal." Video interview where this was said (relevant Natal comments at [7:00]): http://www.gamekings.tv/index/videos/picnic-2009-interview-peter-molyneux/Let's remember something... Microsoft's press conference for Natal basically said " You are the controller." Think of it that way and you might be able to say there is remote possibility that Fable III will use Natal in some shape or fashion.

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
http://kotaku.com/5387026/molyneux-fable-iii-will-use-project-natal"Gamesbrief founder Nicholas Lovell has been posting snippets from Molynuex's talk on his Twitter account, as spotted by VG247,
writing that the Fable lead confirmed Natal support in the role-playing
game. Apparently, Molyneux also joked that Natal would be featured in
the form of a "*** simulator" for the game.
Surprised by Natal support in Fable III? Doubt it, as Molyneux lead
the unveiling of Microsoft's motion and voice recognition controller at
this year's E3 with the Natal-powered Milo demo, enthusiastically
showing his support of the technology. And Pete has "never said it's
not going to use Natal," a roundabout way of saying that the Xbox 360
game was going to use it in some capacity."

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
Very interesting game concept, Fable goes large! I wouldn't know how to implement it here, but some (playable this time!) form of co-op or multiplayer would be nice. Like being able to fight against someone else's kingdom in a neutral zone or whatever.
Regards,
Doc

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/101/1019820p1.html
- Fable III was based on Historical Figures
- Expectations of a Third Game
- Fundamental Changes of not just Fable but all RPG's.
Microsoft Lionhead | (Source - Gameinformer.com)
http://gameinformer.com/News/Story/200908/N09.0818.1550.06094.htm
- "Fable III was announced for a late 2010 release"
- Teaser features the voice of Teresa narrating over a shot of a crown in the grass. "The race for the crown has begun."
- "Players
will become king or queen of Albion after overthrowing a tyrant ruler
during the first half of the game. Choices and consequences affect not
just your hero, but the entire kingdom. Themes include poverty vs.
greed, tyranny vs. compassion, progress vs. tradition, etc."
- "Players will control the son or daughter of their character from Fable II several decades after the first game"
- "On
Journey to rule, players will make promises to allies in exchange for
support and they can choose to follow through or blow them off. They'll
also see the injustices of the world and can decide what they'll change
when they're in charge. Though there may be a
reason why things
are the way they are." - "There
will be far more transforming regions in the game similar to Bowerstone
in Fable II. The castle can be expanded and fancied up or left to go to
ruin due to gold being spent on helping the poor."
- "Adventurers
will explore outside of Albion this time, Molyneux displayed some kind
of desert region. This seems to indicate that players may have to
battle against other kingdoms once they become king."
- "Molyneux
admits that Lionhead didn't truly get the drama right in the first two
games because the story sections couldn't be evaluated until the end of
production. This time around they hired a director and spent weeks
filming actors to perform the entire game script to ensure the story
presentation is up to snuff. The footage was brought back to the
animators to adapt into the game."
- "A
new Judgment system allows players to decide the fate of citizens
brought before them. Say a woman is brought before you for stealing
food out of the royal kitchen. You can decide if she's guilty or
innocent right away or wait to hear her side or even go to investigate
her claims. When it's all said and done you can throw her in the
dungeon, let her go, or give her money if you were hooked in by her sob
story of poverty."
- "
Molyneux said that heroes in Fable II were detached from the world
around them because they don't touch anyone. Touching will be a major
mechanic in Fable III. You can shake people's hands when you meet them
and move on to hugging and smooching over time. Touching will also be
used directly in accomplishing quest objectives. For example, you hear
a child trapped in a burning building and you can lead him out by the
hand, comfort him if he's too scared, or just pick him up and run out
of there."

- "Oh, yeah" sighed Molyneux, when asked about Project Natal in Fable III.
"So, basically, after my press conference, all these PR [public
relations people] came and said 'Oh, my god, people are gonna think
this is Natal, they're gonna think this is Natal, you've gotta stand up
on stage, get everyone back in the room' and by this time almost
everyone had left. So, let me make this clear: this dynamic touch is
not an announcement of Natal in Fable in any way."
Fable III Preview | (Source - Eurogamer.net)
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/fable-iii-preview
- "You'll see new marvels of the industrial age, devices that the people of Albion are amazed by."
- "Half of Bowerstone will be turned into this mass of pistons and steam and clockwork - everything's moving."
- "One
of the main themes here is how the advancement of the new world is
having an adverse effect on the beautiful lush environments of Albion.
Industrialization is changing Albion, and do you want to put a stop to
that?"
- "Fable is inherently the story of one person, remember. We have to have
that narrative. It's not something we can get away from. All I can
reveal at the moment is that we are working on a way to see the world
with a wider view, so that you can directly influence large sections of
the kingdom at any one time. But at its heart it's still a third-person
action game. That experience of being able to directly change the world is
something that would actually blend quite nicely with Fable, pulling
the camera back a little and allowing you to see how you're changing
things and what's going on."
- "We're making the sim elements more accessible, and making them a part
of the story properly. We are still having Fablesque stuff, however: if
you want to drill down into the sim activities and that alone, it's
still an option, but hopefully most players will be more exposed to the
sim element of it in the first place - but not at the cost of
distracting from the adventure. Getting that balance is something we
iterate on. It's like combat - it's a fundamental piece of the game,
but how do you bring that in, without making it just a combat game?"

http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200908/N09.0819.1136.29599.htm
- Once
in command, quests will play out a bit differently than in past games.
Being called "judgments," towns people ultimately ask you to make
difficult decisions for them. The example Molyneux uses is, "Someone
comes in and says, "We've caught this girl stealing food." Players can
call in the cook and she says, "We've caught her stealing and we need
to set an example." Then, players can either go and investigate
further, or can summarily decide her fate. If a player continues, the
girl might say, "I'm starving and my family needs some food" and you
can go out and see her family. You can think of this as a new way of
accepting quests."

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
Thought I'd add this concept art that LH added on Facebook, it's just an updated pic of Bowerstone.
Fable Definition: A short, pithy animal tale, most often told or written with a moral tagged on in the form of a proverb. Thus to convey a moral is the aim of most fables, and the tale is the vehicle by which this is done.

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
And again, a long, improperly lubed metal shaft for the PC base. What's ironic about the whole back-of-the-bus for the PC crowd is that they're creating these games on a PC.. Fable TLC was the only (Lionhead) game I ever bought, not bummed off a friend (console included in said bummage). All the hardware and software tech that these games are 'pioneering' are all developed on a PC, so that they can make them work on a different chunk of hardware. Sounds absurd and asinine to me. No flaming intended, I google "Fable II PC" every weekend (set results to only show results less than a week old) and ended up stumbling on someone's flame-rant about Fable III coming up and still no II-PC.. Figured I'd post my two cents. I'd buy both for double the going 360-rate if that's what it took to get them to un-port the damn thing back to PC. Be damned if I'm spending $300 on a vastly inferior system just to spend even more money on a game that would look and perform (on my system anyway) at least three times as well as the 360 counterpart. Lastly, I bought Win7 x64, so it's not like I'm one of those pirate junkies floating around here or that I hate Microsoft, just wish they'd get their $#!% together and put something out for those of us (a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) percentage of the overall users) that're willing to pay for software that's actually worth the money. --Some crazy software developer--

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
BTW for the sand picture i found something out, people thought the symbol was the Shadow Court Dark Seal but when i did the Oakfield Massacre quest for the Temple of Shadows they gave me "The Temple of Shadow's Seal" and it looked exactly the same, so maybe its not the Shadow court but the Temple of shadows expanded then collapsed,
Someone once said i have ADD, that means i get distracted really ea..OMG SQUIRREL!

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
1.There should be a construct tool so if u have enough money you can build your own custom buildings in a building forge then add them to where ever you own.
2.Oh and if your the ruler of Albion you should have your own army(Recruit people, start wars with the other nations,go to battle with your troops, execute them, promote them, build bases ect)
3. You should be able to punish people the way you see fit: eg execution, imprisonment, chopping off their limbs fforcing them into your military, cleaners, slaves ect

Re: Fable III Info and Articles
I was looking at that background image on the front page and I figured out it's Bower lake. As you can see, it it significantly different to the Bower lake of Fable 2. Notably there is a bridge leading to the entrance to the tomb of heroes. Why would they rebuild the entrance if they still hated heroes? I think there is something there! What do you guys think?

You should remember that your character from fable 2 is king/queen up until fable 3. Seeing as he/she is a hero the bridge to the tomb would probably be something he/she would build.
