Re: Introduce yourself to the community here

Greetings. Long time lurker, just signed up. (not sure why tbh)

I'm not a huge gamer, being an Apple Mac type geek, but I bought B&W for Mac, enjoyed it, so bought B&W2 (quite enjoyed), Fable TLC (enjoyed) and The Movies (meh!).

I'm not a rabid MacHead – I've worked on PCs all my life; going back to creating menu systems with DOS batch files; automating WordPerfect, and crowbarring Assembler stuff onto 8086s. Before that it was fun times with ZXs and BBCs. Too many PCs at work, like a change at home Smily [:)]

    Adus:
Hello Folks! I'm one of the newest additions to the development team here at Lionhead. I'm a Network Programmer so I deal with getting everything working over Xbox Live etc! I've worked with other studios in the past and I have to say it's a pleasure to be joining the team at Lionhead Smily [:)] I’m an avid fan of Trance music and a keen follower of Formula 1.

Nice to meet you AdusSmily [:)]

Welcome to all the new people as well. Have fun in the forumsUp []

    Roliel:
    Hi Everyone,

I'm Roliel (Tolanas in many MMOs). I'm a Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science student, and I have the gift and curse of being a game fan in the midst of gamers :-). I specialize in thinking about human computer interaction, and I'm particularly passionate about immersive and psychologically responsive computing (this includes everything from gaming to invisible and ubiquitous [ah, buzz words] computing to robotics) as well as the digital/physical divide. I believe in a future (and, more importantly, a present) where one cannot say "I'm using the computer" or "I'm playing on my XBox," instead using these tools as naturally as one might pick up a pen and start writing. I could (and will, in other places) go on and on about this, but instead express my appreciation for what Lionhead is doing for gaming. Through Black and White, Fable, their sequels, and now their work with Natal, Lionhead keeps taking the envelope and smacking it with a (virtual?) baseball bat. Sweet! And also, the fans of these games, judging from the forums, can have some of the most well thought out and insightful ideas. Way to go!

    Peace,
    Roliel

Interesting you are majoring in physics as I am thinking about astrophysics as my career. You see very few physics majors anymore it seems. Congratulations on joining the forums and I hope you have a grand time! Up []

Re: Introduce yourself to the community here

Hello everyone, I have signed up to the community a while ago, and I have been lurking a lot, so I figure it's time for me to introduce my self.

My name is Chiara, I live in Italy and I like heavy metal, art, books and, of course, video games.
The games I love range from RTS to role playing games, with basically everything else in between except sports games and war games with a realistic setting.
(Sci-fi, OK; Fantasy, OK; Historical, kind of; modern warfare, no thanks: I am not happy when things get too "political").

I have a PC, a DS, a Wii and an X360, but I mostly play on PC and X360.
(not really planning to get a DSi and a PS3).

I hate cheese, volleyball and (this is a new entry) the Twilight series.
But I do try to respect other people's views, just don't eat cheese in front of me.

I hope I haven't bored you all to sleep.

    ~ Mel ~

Well here's my first welcome to the boards.
Hello Chiara, being that you gave your name, I'll give mine. I'm Andrew and it's nice to meet you. I like the fact that you like heavy metal... and hate Twilight.

I hope you have a nice stay here at the Lionhead boards!

Hi Andrew, thank you so much for the welcome message. I've been enjoying myself as a lurker, hopefully being an active memeber will bring more fun.

Re: Introduce yourself to the community here

Well, I'm back, again... I know i said i was back 3 months ago, but more stuff came up in my life. ces't la vie.

Anyways, some big things have happened since I last was here. I'm now in college going for my general education before I transfer to a bigger university to pursue my intended major in Environmental Architecture. I have converted to Secular Buddhism, which I think will end my spiritual wandering that has taken me from Christianity to Agnosticism, to Atheism to Existentialism and Nihilism to Philosophical Atheism and finally to Secular Buddhist. I am now openly bisexual with male preference, but I may as well just be gay, because there are very very few women I like.

I remember when I was last active some people found me a bit annoying, and I have put countless hours in meditation and self examination to help myself be less so,  I have also become far more psychologically stable and no longer need to take medication.

I also have a renewed interest in philosophy and I will be happy to discuss it with you all.

It's G o o d [Good] to be back, hopefully I will be able to stick around

One should not speak unless it improves upon the silence.

Re: Introduce yourself to the community here

    Hello, I'm Renegade Guy.

I don't really remember exactly when I joined but the earliest post I could find of myself dates back to October 28, 2002.
So it was sometime around on the BBB forums.

I left just before Fable 1 came out.
Now a few weeks after doing the F2 thing I have returned.

Also if anyone is around from back then, and I think I saw a familiar name somewhere, I promise I'm not the same *** as before.

I don't believe I properly introduced myself either... pretty sure I just jumped right in.

Hello, my name is Andrew. I'm a huge fan of the band Tool. I'm very easy to get along with if you arn't a complete retard... so keep that in mind. The biggest thing that I hate is Twilight. I came here the day I heard about Fable 2, too bad I got a bit carried away with the hype and got nothing but disappointment.

    Well, cheers!

Ive found this to be true, I remember about a year ago when I was playing Gears of War and this one guy (at least we thought he was a guy) joined.

For almost the entire game he (she) had his (hers) mic off so we never got to her his (hers) voice, and the fact that he (she) played like crap did not exactly help.

For at least a G o o d [Good] 30 minutes everyone, on both teams just flamed away on him (her), words like noob or *** and all other 13-year old gamer words past by all the time.

After a while he (she) turned on his mic and started talking and after that everybody on her team started taking bullets for her, she had a damn human shield everywhere she walked and all these guys started to suck up to her after the rounds...

I don't know if anybody else has ever experienced it, but it seems like everytime a girl joines a game all the guys turn into mindless zombies.

Anyway, welcome to the forum, and vampires are cool, but only if they were real Laugh []
