    The JazzX Movie Vault

I've seen an interest recently in films that have been taken off-line/been removed. I have an archive of well over 300 films on my hard-drive that I gave **** stars or more to. (And anyone who thinks I'm a tough reviewer knows that all these films are going to be good). Many of the classics are there, some of which are no longer available. On one occasion, I was able to reunite a filmmaker with their long lost classic after they'd taken it offline and then their hard-drive had crashed. The archive begins on Armistice Day 2005 (11.11.2005) with the film "Intelligent Design". It, so far, ends with "Internal Darkness - Part IV" (by IISharperII) (16.12.2006) In between are no end of classic TMO films. If you want to see a specific film that might not be available, then post here or PM me - I'll tell you if I've got it, then we can take things from there. In the meantime - I'll periodically be coming back here to mention, by month, the best films I have. Let's get it started (remember these are in order of being archived, not release date): November 2005 highlights: "Intelligent Design" "Lord of Berlin" "Gorillas That I've Missed" "Yakuza Honor Betrayal" "King Kong 1940" also archived, "The Hunted" "Modeius Machine"

These are sizeable films - but they're absolute classics of TMO. What possessed Steven (Kreg) to remove them without even suggesting a link elsewhere is beyond me. Give us a few moments and I'll upload them to rapidshare for you (and everyone else who's interested) ...

Lol - "I'm a horse ..." That's in December 2005's archive! I've been unable to access it - but it appears to still be online: http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/23697 Obviously, I've got background downloading going on - so it might just be me - but when I accessed the film's page, I got re-directed to a "The Movies" chart page. If that happens to you, let me know. I have the film in my archive and will upload it for you.

In a marathon session on Saturday - I reviewed something like 40 films. Of which maybe 8, at the most, made the **** or ***** grade. I've been pretty consistent over the year - so that would mean I've reviewed 1500 films over 13 months. I think that's probably too much, the final figure is more likely to be under that by a couple of hundred, as I have had nights where 5 out of 8 films might score highly. Certainly over 1000 though. Anyway - all films that get 4-stars or more are put into my archive. And good job too - (no King Kong???) I started dishing out awards to extremely special films back in August - only 6 films/series have received them to date. (The "Prufrock Award for Outstanding Cinema" named after its first recipient - "J. Alfred Prufrock Considers the Infinite" by Postmodernchuck) But if I had awards for those before August - the King Kong series would definitely win one. Absolutely outstanding. And when you consider how early into "The Movies" it was, it's just staggering. Like the original King Kong it was well ahead of its time.

    Re: The JazzX Movie Vault

I've got Troopers 1 - bizarrely, (it scored the required 4-stars to make it into the archive), I don't have Troopers 2, so something went wrong there. Here's what I said in my review for "Troopers" on 6.1.2006: ***** stars "Terrific costumes, backdrops and action sequences. Like the real Star Wars (new ones), it suffered a bit from weak characterisation and not enough decent dialogue. Could've done with some Star Wars-ish music as well (I know you're not allowed to use the real thing - but something similar would've done). So I should give it 4/5 ... However, I`m giving it 5 because of all the great effects/costumes/backdrops in this film. I'd call this, just like Star Wars, a cutting edge film for effects in The Movies." Anyway - I'll upload Troopers for you now. Bear with me for 10 minutes ...

    Re: The JazzX Movie Vault

Another month has begun, that means it's time for a wander through some classics populating my archive from a year ago. This is where it really takes off - you'll see by the sheer number of films that made it into the archive, that February 2006 was a pretty fruitful month and no mistake. Once again, all these films scored at least 4 stars and are all available for you to watch if you give us a buzz. February 2006 Highlights "Animal Cruelty" [C] "Pimp My Ride" [C] "Legacy of Man" "Aegis of Therion 2" "Fear Factor 1" "Fear Factor 2" "Fear Factor 3" "Hairy Palms" "Jesus v Easter (The Cupcake Edition)" [C] "A Fairy Tale (Un Cuento de Hadas)" "Trials of Explosivo! I (VO edition)" "Trials of Explosivo! II (VO edition)" "Lamp Dad" "Chaplin's Tribute" [C] "Moonlight Nightclub" "Blue Valentines" "45" "My Light Has Gone" "Dreamtown" "The Car Whisperer" "Scary Beginners" Also archived for this month: "Last Call" "Collosus III" "Power of the Desires" "Constant Gardening" "Cracker Jap" "He Comes Knockin 1" "He Comes Knockin ep2" "He Comes Knockin 3" "Mind Game" "Misunderstood Genius 1" "Misunderstood Genius 2" "The Book 1" "The Book 2" "The Book 3" "Oh Jason" "Inside The Studio" "Deadly Union" "Space Hunger" "The News According to Alan Davis" "13 Minutes" "My Nightmare" and my own effort "MASCOT (Trailer)" [C] Once again [C] denotes a classic must-watch film! Otherwise, see you next month! Happy [:)]
