    What's your IQ?

I have searched the Web for some of the best IQ testing sites that are fairly accurate and professional. Test them out for yourself and post your IQ! Average IQ is 100, Genius is 144+, although anything above 120 is still considered genius.

NOTE: It's much harder to take an online IQ test than it is to take one in real life, and your online scores will probably be lower than one you might have taken on paper.

Most IQ tests are based more on speed than correct answers, having a fast, correct answer is best.

Please do all problems in your head, no pen, paper, calculator, etc.

    http://www.highiqsociety.org/iq_tests/

I scored a 117 the first time using this test, with an average of 113 over three different times. The trick with this test is that all your questions are timed, the longer you take the lower your score. 50 questions.

    http://www.intelligencetest.com/test/signupuser.php

This is a fairly difficult test, and you must sign up (it's free) to take it. You may only take the test once per computer terminal. My IQ: 119

    http://www.testcafe.com/iqtest/

According to this test, I am "highly intelligent" with an IQ of 141. Yes, it is that easy.

Try out these sites and post your IQ.

Have fun and work fast Smily [:)]

    Re: What's your IQ?

Having studied psychology for a couple of years at uni, I'm extremely sceptical about the validity of even official intelligence tests, never mind their online counterparts. Nevertheless, if it's just for fun, I'll bite.

The first test is pretty bad, because it outright tests knowledge, which, even if it can't be eradicated from intelligence tests, should at least be minimised. In that test, I got 127, but how much of that was due to intelligence and how much was due to knowledge? I don't know. I would add that I was better at some of the pattern-matching questions from studying computing science than I would have been otherwise, so I'm not sure whether that counts as innate intelligence, either.

The second test was better, and in that I got 138. When I've taken (unofficial) IQ tests before, they've generally been around the 136-140 level, so 138 is pretty consistent with what I expected.

The third test was a bit of a joke. The problems were better than in the first test, but there was a 50% chance of just guessing the right answer. In that I got 160. Without guessing Stick out tongue [:P] But again, from studying logic and discrete maths, the logical questions were easier for me than they would have been otherwise, so is that innate intelligence?

I don't 'do' sigs. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Re: What's your IQ?

Yeah, I really dislike when they have questions like: What is the largest lake in North America? What? How does that decide if I have a high IQ? A mentally handicapped person can learn the answer to that question and they would still not be as intelligent as other people who are not mentally handicapped.

Also, IQ tests don't really test how smart you are, but they lean more toward how you learn and at what pace. So basically, a person with an IQ of 120 can still be smarter than a person with an IQ of 170, the ladder would just learn more efficiently.

Maybe to some people, which is probably why they didn't discuss it. They let the thread die, and didn't decide to bump it up for no reason at all.

    Re: What's your IQ?

I got a 120 on my first go.  I'm not sure if that's something to be proud of.  I did panic a few times, like on the bubble questions, and just clicked whatever.  Also, I didn't have plenty of sleep and a G o o d [Good] breakfast today like those standardized test people tell you to do.  So I can blame that, too.

On the third test of the three listed, I got a 132.

I remember getting a 137 on an almost official IQ test just 3 years ago.

I looked at the first one and literally didn't even look at the question. I just randomly clicked on answers and scored a 108. I don't think thats accurate.

Yeah, getting a random result when you click random answers. What're the chances?

131 on the high IQ society one... It seems I am eligible to purchase a membership, o glee Laugh []

The second one demands my email so boo to that. The last one I have no faith in, I have seen so many "IQ tests" where you can purchase a diploma with your score afterwards, which means that it's just G o o d [Good] business to crank up the score. Not many people buy diplomas saying they're average Stick out tongue [:P]

    Re: What's your IQ?

Unfortunately an IQ test that is 4 years old is meaningless since IQ is based on age.

    Re: What's your IQ?

Neat tests, but I don't give much credit to IQ tests, I am much more interested in creativity. Because intelligence is worthless if not put to G o o d [Good] use.

But on the first one I got a 139, on the second I got a 131 and on the third one i got a 145.

One should not speak unless it improves upon the silence.

Pretty poor, if it's actually a G o o d [Good] test. Random answering shouldn't yield more than maybe 50 points max. It should hardly tell you that you're better than average.

    Re: What's your IQ?

From personal experience I know that thelevel of intelligence is directly related to the ammount of exposure a person has had to the topic of the question being asked and the ammount of interest the person has in that topic.

I was raised in Europe, speak three languages fluently and I allmost completely forgot a learned language I used to be fluent in. I guess you could say I am an odd kind of guy because I never accepted the culture of my family and community as I grew up and I never accepted the culture of any other place I lived/learned in but I am extremely adaptable and drastically changed my lifestyle a number of times.

I've had retiring professors that called me the best student they ever had and I had professors that called me a complete failure that would never ammount to anything and my academic background is just about as shifting between periods of C's, D's and even F's to periods of nothing but straight A's in classes that were continuing and building on the classes I was previously underperforming in.

Now I won't bother with any of your IQ tests because I know a single thing: if I am driven to accomplish something nobody can stand in my way so if you like to think I am stupid or smart or both(whaaaaat...) be my guest.

It's great that you're so self assured and confident of your own intelligence that you felt the need to tell us all of that to justify your decision to not take the tests Big Smile [:D]

    Re: What's your IQ?

I went one step further than that - I actually did the tests but deliberately chose not to be intelligent whilst doing them.

I scored under 20 in all of them, which apparently makes me a triffid.
