    Archon not King/Queen

So according to Fable lore the King/Queens were called Archons not king or queen.
You are the descendants of that bloodline too so you should be called Archon.

I think that would be cooler plus as Archon you should get that armour

I hope at least it is a title you can get.

    meh.

    that armour's way over-used...
    its trash to me :/

and being king/queen in fable only requires you to own a castle, not be part of a bloodline... apparently...

    Re: Archon not King/Queen

That's a G o o d [Good] point. Archon would fit better with the lore and history of Albion, but at the same time, you can still get the "King" or "Queen" title in Fable II. Perhaps Lionhead needs to be more consistent when naming the rulers?

Overused maybe I don't care though I want it. Stick out tongue [:P]
Also they have to use King or Queen in press releases because if they said you get to be Archon in Fable III, 3/4 the people would not know what that meant, but in the game itself it should be Archon or just a title like I said. Smily [:)]

    Re: Archon not King/Queen

Perhaps Archon refers to specific types of rulers...just as we have Kings, Emperors, mayors, etc. today. It seems like it is just another title, and perhaps no one remembers the Archons well enough for anyone to be named one.

    Re: Archon not King/Queen

yeah, i think that archons were slightly different than regular kings/queens. i hope that we do get to become archons, but that would have to be after we are crowned as kings or queens.

Wasn't the Archon, the ruler of the Old Kingdom? I'm probably wrong as my memory is really bad, but I seem to remember Theresa saying that the Archon activated the Spire.

the archon's were the old kingdom rulers, it was a bloodline started with william black. and the last archon was the one that created the spire and activated it.

Archons were the rulers of the Old Kingdom. They were honored highly above kings and queens.

I would love to have that armor in my throne room, next to my throne. Just standing there, reminding people of the greatest Archon to ever live. And then Scythe would walk in and remember his life, and give me some advice.

Who said we are decendants of the bloodline, we are called king or queen because we own the major cities. Maybe I'm missing something but I've never heard that we are of the same bloodline as the Archon's

    Re: Archon not King/Queen

While it is certainly never explicitly stated that we are direct descendants of any of the Archons, it is implied that we are descendants of the hero from the first game who was without a doubt a descendant of that royal lineage.

Among other things, Theresa mentions you "ancestors" in the chamber of fate (which could be literal or figural) and she says things like "you remind me of someone i knew long ago". Again it isn't explicit, but many people have drawn these conclusions Smily [:)]

Words and their meaning change over time. So, perhaps the Archons are a thing of the past... to the general populace. People probably don't even remember the stuff that happened in F1 and maybe not even in F2. Tongue Tied [:S]

    Re: Archon not King/Queen

No way! I mean Fable 1 was like 1000 years after the time of the Old Kingdom, William Black's time(First Archon, Scythe), but people still remembered the Archon. Why would that change after just 550 years? Hell, there are references to the Hero of Oakvale and a book about him in Fable II. I highly doubt the title Archon would just be forgotten. And maybe the title Archon is only given to those powerfull enough to rule over all of Albion. The Hero of Bowerstone didn't go to all of Albion, there was still some places they didn't go to.

no... my original point is void... hang on... much better arguement coming up...

    yeaaap...

    no...

    it doesnt work...

they still have books about it... so i guess they should know something about it...

meh though... it doesnt matter that much...

    iiiiii think...
they should know some stuff about history... theres definately books, and surely the stories would be taught to children...
so youd figure they know at least something about the past...
i guess these villagers really are shallow huh...

While what you said, is certainly true, it's not quite what I meant. When I said 'remember', I didn't really mean or think about books. Smily [:)] The ideas are still there, but they're so foreign that they don't use them anymore, kind of deal.

the archons are starting to be forgotten is what i think. they are not mentioned and as such are probably just bedtime stories for children with the majority of the people thinking it as myth.

that doesnt mean that your hero cant come and teach the people about them.

Yeah but nobody in Albion knows that you are his descendant cos theres no physical proof, but a thought occurred to me, That means that Scythe is your Great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather,   also in the tales of albion it says how scythes descendants used thier power to take over bowerstone, so unless a different family took power that would mean that Lady grey is your Cousin in F1 and your Great great great great Great auntie,

    Re: Archon not King/Queen

If to become the King / Queen of Albion you must own the cities...

doesn't that mean that Albion is an Aristocracy?

To become King / Queen of Albion in Fable III from what I've seen / read is that Albion in the future (50 Years Apparentley) it's a Tyranny? Because you overthrow a "Tyrant" that in context doesn't just make it a Tyranny but I'm still confused...

    Aristocracy, or Tyranny?

Dude, that's like the main plot of Fable 1.  Didn't you ever read the book Theresa sent you after the Arena?  Haven't you read Tales of Albion, Fragments of the Old Kingdom?

That would also mean the hero was related to Theresa as well. Being that Theresa was the original Hero's brother from fable 1 and the hero being a descendant of the Archon bloodline. ORLY [orly]

Well consider, the Archon's were the business of legends and loremasters in Fable 1. It is not as if a new Archon appeared and then 550 years later people are straining to remember. It is 1,550, and that last century or two may have made the difference. A little history is lost with each retelling. . . how did that line out of the Fellowship of The Rings movie go? "Much that was is now lost for none now live who remember it. . . history became legend, legend became myth etc." The name may survive, but who aside from lore masters remember the context. People still reffer to certain disorders and systemic attacks as strokes. . . how many people recall that the phrase was derived from the phrase "Elf Stroke" when the belief was strong that such seizures could be caused by the otherworldly and invisible arrows of The Faery Folk? And that is just one example out of millions.
