Fable 2 and the Failbox 360

So since before Fable 3 was announced (a little less then 2 months ago) while I was in the middle of playing thru with my first E v i l [Evil] character my graphic card failed in my 360 elite. So it green-screened then it red ringed. Its been in Texas for about a month +. I'm glad microsoft has agreed to fix it but hate how long its taking. Many people have had this error so the list is long.I guess this is a huge problem that has been associated with playing fable 2 and using potions in fable 2.
Sometimes i wish fable was on the PlayStation since I have never had any problems with that and the graphics seem better. ( I never play it though because most of the games I like are on the xbox)

Just thought I would share this bit of information and I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat right now.

Re: Fable 2 and the Failbox 360

My 360 is broken aswell right now (4th time...), and for a change its NOT my graphics card, which it was the 1st and 2nd time, maybe 3rd aswell but I'm not really sure about that. Microsoft probably knows (definately knows better maybe) that the graphics cards are an issue, and about the PS3, you can do more 'whatever you like' on there, the 360 is more strictly what microsoft offers you. But then again, since it's microsoft they offer you all G o o d [Good] games, just becouse they can buy them, we can't really ignore the 360. Besides that it's more user and live friendly. The graphics is just depending on what graphics they made the game with and of course your television, I mean, even with 1080P you can't get over that max resolution.
Sooo... I'm still waiting for it and that's all I can and will do, we'll have to do with it.

Re: Fable 2 and the Failbox 360

My xbox is broken, too.  The Rrod and graphics card both.  Oh, and Drgirlfriend hate tell you but Fable didn't break your xbox.  I found this http://forums.xbox.com/16737900/ShowPost.aspx  58 pages worth on the graphics card problem.

My xbox is now in Texas, lord knows how long before they get it back.

Thank you for the link Susan.

I just talked to a representative. Mine got sent to Texas as well... They told me at max it will take 3 more weeks. So for you I estimate 2 months.

Drgirlfriend, you are welcome for the link.  I found it interesting reading.

2 months, AHHHH!Crazy []  Talk about a back log, they must be behind on repairs or the parts are on backorder.  Geez, I could go buy a new one quicker than that.

Maybe they will just pronounce mine dead, and send me a new one.

Everyone in this thread, get an Elite.

I've had mine for over a year, and it has never RROD'd, glitched, or malfunctioned in any way. Though it did freeze up on me while playing Armored Core yesterday, but I turned it off, then back on and have had no problems since.

If they'd just release Fable 2 on the PC we wouldn't have this problem!

This isn't a fable II problem this is a well documented hardware failure of the xbox. If I recall having owned more PC's than I can count they are not infallible either.  I do know they can have hardware issues as well.

I have had several with mother board problems, video cards that crash, modems that stop functioning, and the list could go on.

Ohh, and Dr. Girlfriend I hope you get your xbox is back soon.  Mine is repaired and on its way home.

Seconded. While the PC is far from being the perfect solution, it'd help a lot of gamers who prefer it. Hell I'd help people in the tech support forums, because I have a great track record with PC Gaming and stability.

Re: Fable 2 and the Failbox 360

I've only had my 360 rrod once after it was a year old, luckily I have 2 so I could continue playing. But I've had more problems with a PC than I can count. So I'll stick to my 360. Besides, I"m more of a controller in my hand kind of person and the few games I have played on a PC I did not enjoy. Maybe my mind can be changed, I don't know. Almost thought of picking up TLC and trying on PC.

Alexis, you would hate it. I have a copy of TLC for the PC, and played as far as the hobbe challenge with Whisper.  Never got past it using the keyboard and mouse, but give me a controller and the 360 and I kicked a**.    I even bought a game controller that should have worked with the game  on the PC and it didn't.

I've actually had pretty G o o d [Good] luck with my 360s I guess. I had 1 E68 on me, so I sent it to Microsoft and actually got an "Official Replacement Xbox 360" in less then 3 days.

Yeah, I'm a controller person too. Guess its from growing up with an Atari 6400 joystick glued to my hand and stacks of games surrounding me on the floor in a pile. Smily [:)] Ah the memories Classic [:classic:]

When my 360 broke I think I had it back in like 2 1/2 weeks. I was very happy with the quick turn around.

    Dr. Girlfriend,

I guess I was more prophetic than I thought.  They did pronounce death and send me a new one.  Hope you get yours soon.

Most likely because you have had prior problems with yours. This is the first time mine has misbehaved. Also its an elite, my friend who had the normal 360 said he got a replacement one after 2 weeks as well.

They are killing me slowly. My boyfriend is trying to get me to play everything on the PlayStation 3 but its just not the same. The only thing I have been playing is Muramasa on the Wii and Blazeblue on the ps3. Oh xbox why do you have to have the best games?
