Right...

So, I installed The Movies, fine. No problems at all, everything works fantastically. I tried to install Stunts and Effects and, using the Guidelines posted here, managed to install it without too many problems. However, when I tried playing it, a message would come up saying:

The Movies: Stunts & Effects has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windoes will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I have no idea what could have caused this, I've tried running it as an Admin, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try this and see if it works:

right click on the desktop icon, go to properties, click on the compatability tab, click on the 'run this program in compatability mode for:' and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2).  See if that helps.

Weird.  Sometimes when I install Stunts and Effects or try to open it, I get a "No Disk in drive" kind of message.  Woody, a while back, had explained this.  I have no idea where to look.  Maybe look in the search and you could possibly find it (that is, if the searched actually works now).

i am having a problem with s&e at vista as well.
i made a fresh install of "the movies" on my new desktop computer, which runs vista 64.
installation was no problem and i was really getting to play.

but every single time when i play for about ... one to two hours (doesn't matter if its sandbox mode or not) the game crashes.
it returns "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error! This application has request the runtime to terminate it in an unusial way." and needs to be closed via task manager.

when i then restart the saved game it will crash again 5 minutes later.
it seems that after a certain amount of time there is too much going on in my studio because the game runs perfect in its earlier stage.

of course my pc meets the system requirements: quadcore, 8 gb ram, windows vista 64 sp 2, ati radeon hd 4600.
and i have the xp-compatibility-mode enabled for the game.

i have plenty of this "visual c++"-stuff installed as well:

does anyone have an idea what i could do to enjoy the game in its entirety?

There are several posts scattered about in respect of vista installation problems; do a board search using "vista" as the keyword and you'll find a ton of them.  Have a look at a few and see if your problem is indicated there.
