I don't mean to sound like a douche or anything Wink [;)], but I'd rather see Lucien return than Jack. At least Lucien had some motivation for trying to kill you. "Albion will BURN!!" is not "motivation" in my book.

^ Jack potentially has a lot of unexplained depth behind him, though. we don't even know why he came from the void. he could even be trying to fulfil a greater G o o d [Good], but was corrupted by the mask?

yes in fable tlc jack was pretty average as a bad guy. but that doesn't mean his character can't be expanded upon

The only way I'd be amused by a Jack of Blades appearance in Fable 3 would be if the guy behind the mask was your Hero from Fable 2. And I'd only be interested in it for the lulz. "Afer an eternity away from you all... Jackie of Blades is BAAAAACK!!" <female hero throws pelvic thrust>

This thread is awesome, cause it shows the very mystique in Fable, and that's what makes me love Fable. Maybe Jack is kind off dead but he still manage to affect things and the world, like in Saw for example (not that Saw has anything to do with Fable, but it's a G o o d [Good] example), like through a magical book or something.

    Re: Will Jack be back?!

I was recently in Guildford and dropped by Lionhead's fortified underground base to see what they're up to and also to see if I can get Mumm-Ra's autograph. I can confirm that Jack Of Blades will be returning, just not in the Fable series. Apparently if you treat Milo really really badly he'll start dressing and talking like Jack when he grows up and slaughtering villagers in front of you in graphic detail. Hope this information helps.

He has to learn the ways of the world sometime.

Milo has the honour of being the very next game that American politicians, looking to show how moral and family oriented they are, will accuse of being a breeding ground for paedophiles and a way to corrupt our innocent children who should be doing something wholesome like setting fire to minorities. The prophesies speak of the day Jack hears about Milo and returns from the dead to destroy him. Scholars are split between those who think that they mean Jack of Blades and those who think they mean Jack "No-one would know I exist if I didn't sue videogames over and over for things they can't possibly have done" Thomson.

    Re: Will Jack be back?!

I too really hope that jack comes back. If you guys are looking for an excuse or a way he'll fit into the story, well feast your eyes on this: The hero of bowerstone made a wish, the best wish (probably on purpose) was wish 2, "The Family", because it not only brought your faithfull (yet annoying) dog back, but it also brought your family back. Theresa didn't say wife and kids, like she could have just as lucien does if you have them, she said "Family". And as the loading screen in which you see the story "It is said that the hero of oakvale killed the guildmaster and carved `your health is low` on his forehead" suggests, the E v i l [Evil] ending in Fable TLC was the true ending. With that said, your family includes your ancestor, the hero of oakvale who had put on the mask instead of thrown it in the lava.

In conclusion it is possible for jack to come back, not as himself or a revived piece of his mask, but as the hero of oakvale, taken over by the soul of jack. How cool would it be if you had to fight The hero of oakvale, and him begging you to kill him while the mask slowly takes over his soul or something. can you say moral choice? o yeah, check and mate! jack could comeback people, face it.

    Re: Will Jack be back?!

That does seem awsome but how would he come? Does he just appear in your throne room saying "fight me!" ?

It could actually be one of the major choices that determines if he comes back, such as if you become a tyrant he comes back and makes the people rebel against you as you did against the original king....I would hate to fight The hero, and trust me, i buffed my dude up with platemail, and all my other subjects at once!!

now that my brainwaves are going...what if they record all the gold you have from the past game? think about....all of it sitting there adding up, used against you!!!!

I see where you're going with this, and it's already far fetched...

No, that only suggests that the Hero of Oakvale killed the Guildmaster. You could do that (not to mention killing Briar Rose, Whisper, Thunder and Twinblade) and still choose the "G o o d [Good]" ending. Which, by the way, is implied by the artwork in the ruins of the Heroes' Guild in Fable 2.

    cherevolution2:
With that said, your family includes your ancestor, the hero of oakvale who had put on the mask instead of thrown it in the lava.

Why would Theresa manipulate your wish to bring back a being (Jack of Blades) that tried to kill her 500 years ago? Do you make a habit of resurrecting people that try to murder you?

    cherevolution2:
o yeah, check and mate! jack could comeback people, face it.

To quote Reaver: "Or...not. Right! Well, Plan B!"

Tell you what, guys. I seem to have become the board's Jack Slayer. I challenge you all to come up with a plausible, workable means by which Jack of Blades could return, barring time travel. Prize to be determined at a later date. Smily [:)]

    Re: Will Jack be back?!

Jack's soul was imprinted upon the Hero of Oakvale from the upwards of three years spent with the Soul Mask.  Whether the Mask was destroyed or the Hero put it on, he still wrestled with the pieces left of Jack's soul until the day that he died at which time Jack escaped into one of his children who had a much feebler soul.  He was then able to assume full control of the child and start to regain his strength.  When the Jack-child became of age, he departed in search of the remaining two Soul Masks that were on Jack's person when he was slain the first time.  They had since been stolen from the ruined Guild and traded all over Albion for years.  After a full 250 years of searching and leaping from body to body, Jack finally located one of the Soul Masks and used it as a means to teleport back to the Void where he bided his time and gathered his strength for another 350 years.  Finally ready to reenter the mortal world, Jack teleported back into the Mask.  An Old Kingdom enthusiast had possession of the mask at this point and it hung on his wall.  One night, Jack called to him in his sleep and the man went over and put on the Mask, relinquishing all control to Jack.  Jack knew that in order to rule Albion again he would have to use a Hero's body but there were so few left in the world that he had to wait until one would show itself.  He wandered from city to city interrogating people and hearing stories of four Heroes who had recently overthrown Lucien, but three had vanished and the fourth was well protected as King.  He then plotted for several years and finally succeeded in assassinating the King who was well into the latter part of this life by this time.  Now the King's Heroic descendants would find him, and then nothing would stop Jack from rising again for the third and final time.

    Do I win?

Nope. The two remaining masks went with Jack's last human body into the Void when you kill him the first time. Therefore, they wouldn't be floating around Albion for the Hero of Bowerstone's descendants to find. I give you credit, though. It was certainly one of the better, "Let's bring Jack back" ideas I've heard. I particularly liked the bit about the Hero of Oakvale being slowly corrupted by prolonged exposure to the mask. Only other problem I see here is that this corruption would have affected the Hero of Bowerstone somehow, would it not?

Ultimately, I agree that if LH decides to bring Jack back, they can change "history" however they see fit to make it happen. This is more an exercise in personal entertainment. Big Smile [:D]

    Re: Will Jack be back?!

Then there are other Soul Masks out there still hidden in the world that Jack had already been searching for previous to his death.  Either that or he's on a mission to forge another one.  Jack's corruption wasn't hereditary so the Hero's children went unaffected.

    Re: Will Jack be back?!

Finding another Soul Mask is starting to sound too implausible. Making a new one is a little more plausible, but it's still quite a stretch. Also, "not hereditary" is a stretch if your first "victim" is the child of the Hero of Oakvale. Jack never exhibited the ability to jump from body to body without a mask, so he'd likely die with the Hero of Oakvale.

Keep trying, you're doing much better than most of these guys! Wink [;)]

    following shishous story here:
his sould went back to the void where he had more masks or minions created a new one for him.
He comes back and takes over the son of the oakvale hero(after oakvale hero is dead) tells the grandson to put the mask on as a tribute to his father. and so on. at one point jack changes body for a stronger one outside the family and thats how the family got rid of jack..
or something like that. my idea was much better when i started forming it but im kinda sleepy. bet shishou can find up a way to make a better story
