I just posted an argument but then my internet crashed, great. My "terrible" arguments? They're better than just picking a random number out and saying "This is how many films there will be, ignoring that the last Harry Potter film is in two parts making it 7 not 8" and "sticks and stones may break my bones, but your silly words don't hurt me". And about the teacher with vodka: "What the hell!?!" She shouldn't be doing that in a classroom.

Corrections are enlarged. If you're a teacher then I sincerely worry about the gramatical future of your students.

    1. I thought this thread was about Twilight.
    2. Lord of the Rings(3 books, 3 films Stick out tongue [:P]) is better than both Harry Potter and Twilight.
    3. I'm sick of alll these posts with numbered responses. It makes my head hurt.

Well here's the thing, stop insisting you're right when you know you're wrong, stop insulting people and being rude to them for being right and try to act a little less like a cocky little kid. The reason you annoy people is very clear, not the unfortunate mystery you seem to think it is. roflpwned.

In fact, look back at number 2 in your post. Even now you're still refusing to let go, blatantly lying and blaming other people when you're the one at fault, and then you go on to wonder why you annoy people. Seriously?

    Undead---God:
How am I picking out a random number, exactly? There's going to be 8 Harry Potter movies and there's only 7 books, this is a fact (meaning you can't deny it, that it's not a random number, and so on...) and so your cocky remark of "4 books, 4 movies Genius" is completely wrong. Your defence against that is just "Well yes, but one of the books is released as two parts in two movies, which makes it one movie". That's just ridiculous, and insisting you're right isn't doing you any favours. It's two different films and if you think it's one then you should take it up with the director instead of me, since I'm not going to bother responding to random babbling.

    Correct.

It's like talking about The Lord of the Rings.

Yes, it is one book, BUT 3 parts.  There were 3 movies...for the 3 parts.  So therefore, it was NOT one movie.  It was 3 movies.

Therefore, yes.  There were 7 books and 8 movies.  The last 2 are the last book.  Therefore, just like I stated, there will be 2 movies from one book.  That makes it 8 movies.

    7 movies? WTF [:wtf:]

    Re: twilight

You can break Lord of the Rings down even further, becuase each book is split into two parts.

    I'm just saying.

    Re: twilight

In truth, Lord of the Rings is one book - JRR simply then padded it out with enough dreary, over-written descriptive and tedious half-baked 'lore' to stretch it over three of them. There's actually a G o o d [Good] story buried in there trying to get out - it's just that the story itself is only about 400 pages if you got rid of the rest of the drivel and made it more readable. Like, say, the Hobbit.

A whole 600 words describing a rock and pages of endless, incomprehensible singing at Tom's house is not a G o o d [Good] way to write a book.
    Lord of the Rings sucks.
    Just saying.

I would consider reading/watching it if it wasn't for all of the unserious comments and reviews about the movie. I do not belive a 14 years old, crazy girl tells me that "twilight is the best movie(/book.. most girls just saw the movie) ever maaaaade, edward is so hot <3<3<3<3<3!!!". That's what most of the girls has to say about the movie. Doesn't really expose alot of intelligent knowledge about movies/books, does it?

I've attempted reading the Silmarillion, and only got halfway before giving it up as a lost cause. The problem is that Tolkien only finished half of it before he died, then his son wrote the rest based on notes that Tolkien made. It actually starts off sounding somewhat like a story, and I'm assuming that's the part he wrote, but after that it feels like a textbook, and becomes nothing but dates and names.

After a while it seriously just goes "And then (insert elvish name here) traveled to (insert elven city here) and stayed there for five years. Then (insert elvish name here) he moved to (insert elvish city here) and stayed there for two years. Then (insert elvish name here) died from an orc ambush" It gets THAT monotonous...

I'm not sure about that, what I mean is that I don't like the thing about a teen in a school who meets this very G o o d [Good] looking boy who is a vampire, and then it keeps on like if it was a girls dream.

I guess you just have to be interested in the mythology and history of the books. I got through them ok...altough I haven't tried the Silmarillion yet.
