Whats the number of files that can be in the voice recording folder

Whats the number of files that can be in the voice recording folder, I want to know cause I know from previous use it cuts you off. I know there is ways around it, but I'm just curious. I have about 33 so far, threw away all the ones that were mess ups. Wondering the exact number, so I could be cautious.

I tend to use individual sub-folders for each character, just for organisation's sake.  The last movie I made had 507 seperate voice files in 19 folders, totalling about 240mb.  Can't say what the "all files in one movie" limit is, as I always work scene by scene and assemble the finished product in an editing program, rather than struggling to get the whole thing out in one go (which is just asking for trouble if the movie is longer than 10 mins).

But in order to lip sync the characters, you have to do the voice acting in the game program right?

Not at all.  You can use any program that will record audio files (a community favourite is Audacity; easy to use and freely available, which is a bonus).

All you have to remember is to record the voices in WAV or OGG format (as these are the only two formats the game engine recognises), stick them in your Movie Sound directory then (when in Post Production in the game), click on the voice track, navigate to where you put them and select the track.  Once it's positioned, right click on it to assign it to an actor.

It's not recommended that you use voice tracks of longer than 14 seconds or so for each piece, as the game struggles to lip synch correctly with anything over this length.  You also need to ensure you break your dialogue up into individual lines, as you can't synch one long file to multiple characters.
