"The Fountain Society" by Wes Craven... Rather silly, but once I start a book I have to finish it, no matter how bad it is... Silly [:p] I'm sure the other thread was alive a few weeks ago... I remember posting on it, I wasn't around in Feb... Rolleyes [] Good [Good] to see you around OT a bit more, Rog! Silly [:p]

I currently try to read Carson on Venus by E.R. Burroughs, but man was that a lousy author. Silly [:p] Guess I won't finish that!

"The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks. Great book. It's a comedy of course, but if there is ever a zombie attack it will come in very handy. The next in line is "The Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum. Supposedly the book is a little darker than the movie; decapitations and all that jazz.

That is the only reason I read through the agony that is "The Da Vinci Code." Plus I wanted to see why it was so contraversial. Rubish of a book if you ask me. ~Evil [Evil]

If you're looking for a darker Oz, you might also want to check out "Wicked" It's the story of the Wicked Witch and it's a great read. Currently I'm reading textbooks for UNIX and Game Analysis and Playability, and for pleasure I'm reading Anna Karenina.

Thanks for the recommendation myshinator, I'll have to find it. I need to finish the Dark Tower series. I stopped on book four. Book one is one of my most favored books ever written.

Re: What Book Are You Reading?

God, now you're asking. Er, mostly I'm reading The Toyminator by Robert Rankin at home. But also bits of The Dangerous Book For Boys by Gonn Iggulden (real Boys Own stuff, thatWink [;)]). On the way to work I'm reading The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fford and during lunch I usualy fit in a few pages of an H.P Lovecraft anthology (currently The Horror at Red Hook, as it happens). And then, just to complicate matters, I picked up a copy of Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman yesterday, so I'm about quarter of the way through that as well. So many stories to keep track of...

I read "The Gunslinger", which if I remember correctly is a prequel to that or the first part of it. Bad, bad book. Overrated and just plain rubbish. Not involving, poor character development. But, I'm sure "The Dark Tower" is nothing like it.

Re: What Book Are You Reading?

Recently finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and am currently reading Dan Simmon's Hyperion, aka space opera at its best. After that I'll probably go for Pratchett's The Wee Free Men.

You should! While the Illiad is very good already, the Odyssey is sooo much neater on so many different levels. Really hope that one day, with the success of the Illiad's film version (Troy), they'll do a big budget adventure film version of the Odyssey too.

Re: What Book Are You Reading?

Here is a book question: I almsot bought Night Watch, the Russian novel the (new) movie is based on. The series of books isn't out here (US) just the first one. Does anyone know if the entire series is going to be released in English? Does any other country have all five released?

I believe, this is from someone desperate to read them, that Night Watch, Duck watch and Twilight Watch are to be released every year so far, th rest, maybe still the same, maybe slower or longer.
