What would you like to see in Fable III?
It may be a little early to discuss this but the earlier we do so the quicker Lionhead can adapt to our suggestions.
A longer storyline and a tougher death system go without saying. But what else would you like?.
I personally would prefer a prequel to a sequel, going back before Fable I to Archon's time, this way the player could be in charge of the development of the new guild and choose its fate, society would be largely undeveloped, thus giving the hero a chance to build it to his/her own satifaction.
About the death system, how about we combine the the scarring system with the system which was used, in which resserection phials can be used but the player looses experience using them. The scarring system takes place if the player has no resserection phials.
Plus, with whoever the main enemy is in Fable III, why can't we have the option of joining him/her rather than having to kill the person (I know not many people would want to do so, but it would be great if we could).
That's just my idea though, I'm happy to listen to everybody else's.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I strongly agree, the youngsters never actually do anything, I mean they can't even leave their home region.
Another thing I should bring up is, the ability to kill everybody inhabitant of a settlement and cause it to be abandoned. I swear they said you could do that in Fable II, I time and time again killed everybody I could find in the Gypsie camp, but they all still came back as though nothing happened (except with economic trouble) and that seems like a disapointment to me.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
customization, like when you add points to strength instead of forcing you to look big, give you the choice to add muscles. I swear I hate Fable's 2 muscles. They make you look fat, same goes for the glowing scars from using will, I use will because is convinient some times but I don't like the scars. Also, more variety in the weapons, 3 kinds of weapons not enough for an RPG (three refering to katana, longsword and cutlass same for guns clocwork, barrel and the other which I can;t remeber at the time)
Finally, a longer storyline with more choices rather than or .

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I really only see one way to go in Fable 3; Pirates.
The addition of ships that can be customised would be great, and would work alongside the customisable characters. The noteriety of pirates would tie in well with the reputation system of Fable 2.
Also by basing much of the action at sea the game could create the impression of a much larger game world, the sea wouldn't really have to be a modelled 'level' as much as a decent water texture with varying weather effects and so on. There could be different ports to stop off in different continents and it would make sense that you would only travel so far from your ship, thus adding a maximum level size naturally.
Skies of Arcadia would be a reference for this as it featured ship-to-ship battles as well as traditional combat. The ship in that game could be upgraded with better cannon's etc. but it was never visually represented which was dissappointing.
Another thing I'd like to see in Fable 3 is different facial pre-sets as I don't like being forced to have a character with a cheesy American action hero type face. You could at least pick your standard expression so you don't have to be grinning all the time.
I really hope they go in this direction. It does seem the logical progression from Fable 2 which did include lots of pirate style galleons, weapons, islands and characters.
Please do this Lionhead, I'll consider it a personal favour!

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
Horses, the next evolution of the dog. Therefore, horse combat and larger areas to ride about in, plus inaccessible by horse areas. Also horse related jobs, and carts and carriages.
More Clothing and more clothing variety. You should be able to wear what any other person in the world wears.
Immune system: Improved by healthy eating, fresh air, sleep and exercise, offers resistance to diseases. Can cure diseases with tonics/potions or visiting a doctor/healer. Can get diseases by eating raw foods, STDs or being in a swamp or dirty city for too long.
More adventure game elements such as exploration/treasure hunting, environmental manauovering and more varied/harder puzzles (Think Zelda).
Proper conversations. Like Mass Effect, but with more dialogue options based on your personality. And only people with a similiar personality to your character becoming emotionally attached to your character (They have morals too).
A improved co-op, with a person's own character and the ability for them to interact more (talk? get married? become a permanent feature of that person's world?).
Shorter Load times, even long boring passages between areas to stream data are better.
A natural progressive transition from childhood to adulthood, where you get to see the land, meet characters and have the story set as you go about a Oliver Twist like childhood around the country learning how the game works.
An olde-world type Carnival Fairground, where you can partake in test of skill and strength, see the tatooed people, visit a fortune teller (to get a hint at the location of unfound collectables) or contest against a famed boxer. If successful, you could join the troop and travel with them between towns.
More boats (Purchasable) and the ability to captain them to islands or ports.
More quest options instead of just plain and . Like in the "Till Death Do Us Part" quest you could explain the situation to Alex, or find another man for her to marry. And more integration of the quests into the world, instead of one off linear story's ie: give the sex change potion to a person who would want it (in another quest)/Or spike someone's drink with it.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
More things that affect your character, such as vampires, the chance to be bitten and become a vampire yourself, coarse with some quest to change back if u dont like it, but yeah, and like going around feeding on people at night, but if u kill too many in one area they start barracading theres homes, and guards patroll the streets all night, more things that happen because of your infulence.
i personally love the thought of being chased around town by people with flaming torches and hiding down a dark alleyway and watching them run pass. and walking around at day time but having to be fully cloaked and maybe if your in the sun too long ur skin heats up, so wen u walk back into the shade u glow, so then ppl would know ur a vampire and chase you. and maybe the ability to turn certain ppl, ppl with specific blood types, and wen u become a vampire you wouldnt need to use ur other weapons u become stronger and faster but with other disabilities. and being able to pick up bodies and hide them so you dont get caught. More things that stretch away from the main story, sorta like with Oblivion but with much more detail and the great graphics of fable 2.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
Fable just feels too small. There isnt enough backstory in the game, there isnt enough connection to the characters or characterisation of the characters, too few sidequests, and even the side quests r boring, liked the necronomicon though, that was fun. I really cant stress how much i hate villagers, they r irritating, i want them to talk about worldy events, i dont want the world to revolve around me, i want to make a dent in an already present world. i would like characters in the side quests and story to stay! hell, everyone u save pisses off just adding to ur rep, thats kinda gay, i wanna see the people i save in town, maybe they can have some little in game scenes where they are seen defending u against villagers that wail on u, or something really awesome. if a fable 3 is made, maybe the game could also start you off as a kid, and u progress from kid to adult gradually and not instantaneously. Maybe they can build on the idea of cities a bit more. Give them some essence, make them huge, with quests throughout. Fables locations r tooooo linear,! Way too linear, i don’t know any history in the game. So far all i got from fable 2 was,,, was what? Nothing. I met a few people, tried to kill someone, and yeah.... he died anti climatic. And i didn’t really feel accomplished. Adventures are fun when ur experiencing new things, and exploring, and your choice’s impacts ARE ALL THE MORE EFFECTIVE if what they effect actually is something! And actually has some basis and importance...! e.g In a big grungy city, in a sector of it , are warring guilds, maybe 2 thieves guilds, and they both have their own histories, and the guild masters have their dark pasts, and you learn these and u get into the whole feel of it, maybe the guilds affect the people, and the people in that sector are all messed up, and maybe if u choose one guild – maybe that guild is less corrupt and wants to help the people in light of ur efforts in helping them, and maybe if u choose the other guild, the other guild will forever be in ur favour, maybe u get some money and honor among the cutthroats. Everything in the current fables just seem to spring up and end immediately, before anyone knows it even happens, including u.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
Its not really a feature or anything, but in Fable 3 i really hope that "movement" is less bulky than it has been in the previous games. I'm not talking about movement speed. I always feel like my hero is bolted down to the ground, which isn't something i really enjoy.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I just thought of another idea. I noticed that when you commit polygamy and your wives/husbands realize it, they don't actually do anything other than say "What are you doing with my..." or "how could you cheat on me?", they don't divorce you or anything. I had three spouses all in neighbouring caravans in the gypsy camp - they all still loved me. My idea would be that if your spouse is already pissed off with you, they divorce you after they realize you've cheated. If they love you, they will try to murder the other person you have married. If the other one loves you aswell, they will fight back - to the death. You can, however, make a decision to stop this you can: -Leave them to fight to the death so that you can have whoever wins - ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) and corrupt. -Divorce both of them so they have no reason to fight - ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) and pure. -Divorce one of the two so you only have one spouse - ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) but corrupt. I would also like to see more blood and gore and of course, more brutal moves - sort of like in Viking: Battle for Asgard.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
How about checking out Resident ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) s 5 Co-op and somehow work that in. imagine being able to control your own camera and talk to npc. More fighting on the difficult side or give option to increase the games difficulty settings. How about making the money just a bit harder to get. Prolong the game that way so you can add more addons in future without fear your character is already maxed. I mean come on, by the time each new addon comes out you are a god. No reason to take that special sword or armor. No more chases to the website and having to trade for dolls just to get the last cheap achievement. Fable 2 was very addictive but problem lies when someone has done everything including starting over multiple times even with new expansion they still may have been inclined to trade in or send back before next installment. Luckily I did not and will be able to enjoy next expansion next month.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I'd like to see the return of the bare knuckled fighting copo's or maybe a bare knuckled boxing turnament in a basement in every major town. I used to love those turnaments and they were sadly missed in the second game, also you couldnt fight with your fist in the second game too .
On a second note, do these posts here actually get looked at by the devs??
"IrishMorn" If Adon and Sagat step in....ah, what the hell, I'll get drunk and join in on that one.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
A better combat system, not that it sucks it is just boring. I like the mortal combats and soul caliburs and all that only make that style mixed with prince of persia(without the running on walls) into a fable world. And when fighting the slightest mistep can cost you your life, like actually that consiquencial.
Easier to die. With the new combat system it takes tactics and skill to beat enemies. If yoru fighting a Troll you can be one hit killed if you make the wrong move. Roll Between his legs and he sees you squash. If you die youll be introduced to Avo or Skorm whom ever youve sworn your loyalties to, and they give you options for revival(if you didnt buy a potion). Options could include, giving up every last penny you have, sacraficing a child of yours, doing a damn near impossible revival quest etc. Also make revival potions extremely rare and expensive, like really expensive like a million gold a potion, that way you try not to die more.
More in depth consiquences for your actions, not so much apearence but actions and peoples reaction to them. In both Fable 1 and 2 you can kill someone and everyone forgets after doing a single deed. If you kill someone it should stick, and then you have to deal with that murder for the rest of the game. Guards will arrest you bring you to court or what not and if you break out of jail then your stuck evading gaurds for the rest of the game.
An appearance modifier. Like how you can get horns and haloes and ugly and looking. But I do not liek how easy it is to accomplish getting them. To get horns or Halos you should have to dedicate yourself to one of the temples and through doing quests for those temples then you get a look or look. Your attrictive appearance should depend on health, how much you fight, sleep deprivation, clothing. Like come one there are really rich peopel in real life that are gorgeous and overcharge peopel for everything. Get rid of the skill modifiers, I dont want to be a female character that looks like an ogre. If you want muscles add a gym go and work out, want height go and drink a hormone potion and eat some food. If you drink a bear your not going to get fat, unless you drink 20 beers every day for a coupel years. Same goes with any food. get rid of the apperence and morality modifiers on anythign consumable unless it is named to do so. Like a weight shrinking potion.
Change the whole leveling system. You have strength skill or will and you can max them, have no limit or liek gald make it 999,999,999,999 or something. But the more you use melee youll gain skill automatically by using it no need for picking and choosing. GENERAL experience you should be able to take to Hero trainers to learn new spells and skills or sell for gold, cloths, or even food. So if uopur constantly shooting peopel with no melee your accuracy will get better and your vision(being range) speed and damage(also depending ont he weapon). But using ranged all the time will make you week melee wise. I dont want to raise my skill and get taller, I just want to raise it and get better at it, same goes with melee and will.
TIME!!!! I want to start as a child and literally grow up. Add time to be more than just a number. Start as a kid dont age with story age with time, every 365 game days you get 1 year old. But in doing this make alot of quests, like thousands even, and alot of things to do. Pub games was cool but I dont want to have to load a whole new screen, oh and ADD POKER that you can play co op with a table of other players. Anyways back to growing up. Start as a child of about 10 and this is where you sell your soul to avo or skorm that way when you die you get to come back to life somehow. And as you get older only certain quests become available and monsters show up to fight. Be able to celebrate birthdays by slicing the heads of balvarines or gettign drunk with friends at the local Pub.
More character relationships. It is to easy to make friends in Fable. I knew my current wife all of 30 seconds before I asked her to merry me. SO GAY, make it so it takes a year or two before they start questioning you. Similar to sims only fable style with relationships, you got to keep them up adn they are hard to build. ALSO get rid of stalkers, only a few peopel will stalk you, try to paint your picture when you sleep and what not, but I dont liek the entire town trapping me int he corner so I either have to area transfer ro cut them down to get out.
PIRATE and PIRATE LIFE. I want to sails seas on my own designed boat, or even a YOT. Be able to find your NPC friends you made throught the years and hire them as your crew members and travel the seas hunting down pirates trade ships or the local gaurd. Other continents and porst to explore, and make the sea liek HUGE sobig that it will literally take hours in real life to sail across. AND I want Kraken to attack and natural disasters to try and survive. I WANT FUN!!
Clothing custumizations. Not just color the cloths, and peopel want armor well make it. Have more pecies to add on, like right hand, left hand, right arm, left arm, right shoulder, left shoulder, neck, chest, stomack, weighst, right thigh, left thigh, right shin, left shin, right foot, left foot, face, head, right ear, left ear, nose, right eye, left eye, back. ALL THAT. Be able to find all that in armor. clothign different, your going to buy a pair of shoes that match in real life you know, just find armor ALOT OF DIFFERENT APEARENCES, and if you want it add it to your right shoulder coat or shirt like an augument. Colors, rings, earing, necklasses. I want my guy to be 100% unique from the million people that bought the game. At the begginign of the game choose your parents ethnic background that way asians can ahve an asian looking character.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
The thing I want changed most is appearance. To me a RPG means customisation. Fable I and Fable II lacked in this, I mean: in Fable 1 there was armor, it was fun and looked great, but everyone ended up looking the same Once you could do bright or demon plate armor, BOOM thats what your gonna wear untill you got Archons battle armor Fable II had the same thing, after 30 minutes of playing you could get the Noblegents oufit which was the best(not prettiest to my oppinion ) for people to like you fast. And what both fables did wrong to my oppinion was the dresses and stuff......-_- Fable II had 2 cool sets of clothing(to my opinion ofcourse ) So I'd like Lionhead to leave out the tramp clothing, the dresses and the red wigs out of Fable III Also I think there should be a difference in stats you gain from items. Like big a$$ plate armor should give a lot of defence, but slow you down. and opposite for like chain armor and normal clothes. So that you can really customise your charachter to what you wanted![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
Just like armor, weapons should be devided in classes: light(katana, cleaver etc.(Fast and low damage)), medium(swords, axes etc.Medium fast and medium damage)) and heavy(Hammers and great axes(Slow and kick a$$ strong )). The items in the same classes should have all the same stats, sothat customisation really comes along. If you want a heavy weapon, you can chose any weapon that you like in that class, and not have to worry about it being way weaker that a (to your opinion) ugly weapon.
Jobs: the jobs where clever to add in Fable II, they were just not what I hoped they would be like I think they should put like a few jobs in the game, that you do normally(not as minigame). Like beeing a miner for example: there should be some rocks you can mine and then you should be able to melt the roe and make items. This could also be a great source of a lot of quests(A man tells you he lost his wedding ring and his wife will kill him if she finds out, and then you have to collect the right items and forge a fake ring for the man).
What I think would be cool aslo, is that you have to have certain skills to finish the game. Like: you need to get to a new town, but there is a portcullis that is stuck, you need a strength level of atleast 5 to be able to lift it(or like lvl 5 blacksmith to forge a new chain to lift it or something). It's like the renown system in Fable II just expanded in a lot of more ways That way people will need to play more of the game to be able to finish it propperly![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
More lame small sidequests would be cool also Like collect five balverine hides and stuff like that![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif)
And some people said it before, go back to the sword and bow time![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif)
That's it for the moment If I think of more ill post them later onXD
Greetz![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
more diverse and yeh longer storyline, much much larger free roaming environments, actually being able to look like the characters on the front, being able to see the other players character in co-op, more enemies, same combat system because that was , and same timeline because they can do ssoo much with it, more changes in appearence, adding more morality bars like i dont know.....cruel/kind? selfless/selfish? more variation in environments, magic spells kept as they are really cool, thats about it?

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
In fable 2 i really didnt feel like i owned the buildings. This is hard to explain why i do not know. The only other game i really felt like I really owned the buildings was in Blood moon. I really felt like i helped that small colony along.
So just a felling that your making a diffrence more and of course ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) furniture.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I think sailing ships, riding horses, and customizable weapons (i.e. divine ugments make the handles ivory and gold etc...).
As far as a more defined death system, maybe something where if you die you can invest some of your experience into one of your children and have them carry on the family name? It's an idea, not the most workable.
Maybe many more storylines, so you can choose to be the hero who did a,b, and d. Then, make a new hero who does a,b, and c? Something of that sort. it would add more play time and give even more replayability.
Also, the enemies need to scale along with your power level more. When i got the DLC I breezed through it since I was both, rich and maxxed out in power.
Just my ideas.
P.S. Also i like the vampire idea from another thread. Being able to become a Vamp or Balverine could be cool!

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
Hmm what I would like to see in Fable III?
I loved Fable I so much that I feel really close to it when I hear the theme of fable or see Oakvale, what I like to see is something like a timetravel spell ( Will ) you can travel back to the time of Fable I, and recover the sword of Aeons or JOB's mask.
and when in that time you can go to: The Arena and fioght side by side with the great hero of fable I something like that? and in the beginning of fable 3 you can choose what type of character you want to be: Bandit,Highwayman Guard, Hero
btw, this was my first post so I hope you like the ideas
I never forgive, I never forget.

Would be nice if we could have our own ship. It would make the game massive to add a nautical element, but it would certainly increase longevity.

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I put this same suggestion in another thread, I just want to expand it to a more publicized one
my biggest concern with a Fable 3 would be the time it takes place in. I'd hate to see a fantastic magical realm like Albion suddenly go all 19th and 20th century on us. Cars, More modern buildings, or any other more technical features would just ruin the game (in my opinion)
After the ending of See the Future DLC, i'd like to see the child ( being you, the main character ) be warned by Theressa by the unavoidable events she mentioned in the spire, perhaps apocolyptic or doomful, and she sends you back to the time of the original Fable on a quest to stop that future event from occuring. In a way it would be similar to Assassin's Creed with the Animus (or whatever it's called,) where you go back and relive the life of a member of the Heroic bloodline.
however, I'll leave all that up to Lionhead. I trust them on making an amazing addition to the already phenomenal franchise. the must-have additions, overall, will be more monsters, more choices, less loading screens, more explorability, and finally, a much longer storyline
oh, also, 2 more ideas that I think would really make fable better
1. instead of the co-op screen, as everyone's said, each person gets their own screen, as everyone also said. I don't even know how to explain this next part, so I'll give a scenario:
I am King. I want my friend, Salad Dodger, to come join me in my world.
Salad Dodger joins, and we both get our own screens, as if we were playing in single player mode. However, I now have a PiP (picture in picture) view of what Salad Dodger is doing in my world in the bottom corner of my screen. If I need his assistance, I can summon him to my side with his approval of a button. If I look at the view and see that Salad Dodger is breaking into my house and about to kill my wife, I should then be able to instantly press a button, with another confirmation button, to boot him out of my world. If I would like, I could also close the PiP of Salad Dodger's screen.
I hope that made sense? but ok. time for numero dos.
2. as the storyline progresses, main quests and side quests alike need to get more and more dramatic, until they're eventually so drastic that one choice changes all of Albion, and the entire ending you experience. There shouldn't be just one storyline with a fork at the end, but instead a 100% unique storyline that completely changes the outcome if you decided to buy the hot dog rather than the burger. I want to be nearly garanteed that no two experiences will be the same. I understand this is ridiculously hard to implement, but if It could be, even on a lesser scale, it would be very ground-breaking for the gaming industry.
a long example: at the beginning of the game, there might be a side quest where you choose whether to make a sword as a blacksmith and sell it to a wealthly noble, or make it and give it away to a peasant who needs to defend his family. if you sell it, the purchaser will put it on his wall as an addition to his sword collection. if you gave it away, of course the guy might actually defend his family with it, but then again...
you're around the middle of the game, and you have the man you gave that sword to years ago begging for his life at your feet. he's lately been killing chickens and stealing sheep off local farms, and it would do everyone a favor if you just killed him. however, maybe if you just send him off to a prison, he can change his ways and become a favorable alley.
Which choice do you do? maybe if you kill him, people will discover it wasn't really him and convict you a murderer, therefore destroying your reputation in that town forever. but then again, maybe people will reward you with riches, and the farmland around you will expand and flourish.
but, if you send him off to prison, he won't be dead, and he will be where he belongs. the town and farms will be relieved, knowing one more thug is off the streets. the town will fix up to be a respectable and booming community. but then again, maybe he turns out to be a criminal mastermind and breaks out of prison, slaughtering the civilians and burning down towns and farms into a deserted wilderness, home to thousands of balverines and other fearsome creatures. hence making this perilous area a hardship to travel through for exploration or any new quests to come
-----end of example-----
see, I want several quests like this, that will give unfortold outcomes. if you make a decision on a certain quest twice in a row on different files, maybe it won't turn out the same as it had before. I want the effects to be huge. gigantic. game-altering. so maybe you can't just go through the game planning to be a person. if you put him in jail, maybe it's more than you thought it would be...
so. congratulations if you actually read this whole comment. I hope I didn't waste your time ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif)

Re: What would you like to see in Fable III?
I wouls just like to point out that, in Assassins Creed, your actions didn't have any bearing on the timeline. The idea was that you were consciously going through your ancestors memories, nothing more. There wasn't any time travel involved.
I like your idea though.... would be kind of cool if your character in Fable 3 ended up being someone you would readily recognise from the first game. For example, you chose the path, you end up being Scyther or whatever his name was. I must confess.... i never played Fable I ![Sad [:(]](/emoticons/emotion-6.gif)
If you chose the path you end up being twinblade, or Jack of Blades. Might be quite interesting.
